Points, Miles & Martinis loves Hyatt. Not just because of the well known luxury feel of the Park Hyatt properties (and more secret ones) but also the Hyatt Gold Passport benefits for Diamond members. From Diamond breakfast, club lounge access, to late check-out we love all the benefits. But one of the benefits stands out in terms of value to us in the program. The Hyatt suite upgrade at time of booking.

Confirmed Suite Upgrade At Time Of Reservation

My favorite Hyatt Diamond status benefit is the confirmed suite upgrade at time of booking.

Treat yourself to a suite upgrade at the time of reservation four times annually on eligible paid nights.

Park Hyatt Sydney

Hyatt Gold Passport members who achieve Diamond status after staying 50 nights or 25 stays are awarded 4 suite upgrades. These suite upgrades are available for use on paid stays up to a maximum of 7 consecutive nights at participating hotels. That’s up to 28 confirmed nights in a suite each year.

These suite upgrades can be confirmed at the time of booking by calling the Hyatt Diamond line and requesting the upgrade be applied. I’ve found the process to be simple and I generally have very little trouble finding dates when the suite upgrades are available.

Suite Upgrade Terms & Conditions

Suite upgrade is valid on paid nights, for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights; excludes Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa, Hyatt Regency Kyoto, Hyatt Regency Paris-Madeleine, Hyatt Regency Tulsa, Hyatt Regency Wichita, Hyatt Santa Barbara, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa, Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, Park Hyatt Sydney, Hyatt House properties, Hyatt Place properties and Hyatt Residence Club resorts.

Bottom Line

The ability to confirm into a suite at Hyatt properties is our favorite Hyatt Diamond benefit. It takes away the uncertainty for the times you need a suite. I’ve had several recent stays where a non-Hyatt hotel made more sense but really needed a suite, so moved my stay over to the Hyatt since I could confirm into a suite at the time of booking.

The breakfast or lounge benefit is a very close second behind the confirmed suite upgrade. What’s your favorite Hyatt Diamond benefit?

Comments

  1. 1) Confirmed suite upgrades;

    2) Full diamond breakfast

    3) Lounge Access

    4) Late checkout

  2. For me it is the 2500 bonus points for close club on weekends. I get a better breakfast and points. Awesome.

  3. It has to be the Diamond breakfast. Even though Suite upgrade at time of booking sounds like a good benefit the problem is it cannot be used on points bokings which does not fit my personal style. All of my paid stays are when I am traveling alone on business and once or twice a year when I am traveling with family on vacation it is usually a points stay and that is when I need the suite upgrade.

  4. Since I stay almost exclusively at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House, where a lot of those benefits don’t apply, for me the late checkout is easily the best benefit.
