According to Frontier Airlines it seems that pizza might just be.

Per this MSN News article, passengers on a diverted Frontier Airlines flight from Washington to Denver, received a nice treat when they landed in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Due to the lengthy weather delay, the captain decided to order 35 pizzas to feed all 160 passengers on-board the divereted flight.

Frontier Airlines

Per the article, The pilot said, “Ladies and gentlemen, Frontier Airlines is known for being one of the cheapest airlines in the US, but your captain is not cheap,'” Logan Marie Torres recounted to the news station. “‘I just ordered pizza for the entire plane.'”

What a nice surprise for these passengers who were diverted. Sure, the airline could of offered $50 vouchers to all the passengers, but sometimes all you need for service recovery is to order pizza for your customers.

What would you rather take during your next delay or diversion, a $50 airline credit or hot fresh pizza?

  1. A $50 voucher is nice, but I don’t think it does much to satisfy hunger when you’re “trapped” on board a delayed flight. This was a nice gesture by someone who clearly cares about his passengers (aka customers).

  2. My flight was delayed about 2hrs from BDL to DCA due to weather. Was scheduled to arrived at 9:30pm; we departed at 10pm. We circle around DC for over an hour until plane run out of fuel and had to refuel at Richmond. We arrived to DCA @ 1:40am. Guess what I got from US Airways? Nada, zip, niente, NOTHING!

  3. This is obviously someone that understands the value of his passengers. “The New American” should toss Mr. Parker on his ass and hire this guy.

  4. Every domestic airline charges for bags(save wn, a former lcc), the former ‘better’ airlines are now even making carry on sizes smaller (they all fit in the bin, isnt THAT the size we should respect?).

Kudos to Frontier for making a crap situation a little better. I hope this idea will persist, and also that we can get more quality pizza in and around airports/airplanes. +1 to F9
