Starting this Thursday, Delta will be rolling out better food and drink options in their SkyClubs and the great news is these additions will be free.
Earlier this year, Delta tested a number of food and service offerings for a limited time at a number of clubs. The new food menu reflects customer feedback at each club, as well as the logistics of providing the new offerings.
Per Delta, each club will offer more fresh and healthy choices, including fruit salads, yogurts, hard-boiled eggs and fresh bagels for breakfast as well as hot soups, salads, fresh fruits and desserts throughout the remainder of the day.
“Adding fresh and healthy new food options to our clubs is just another way Delta is investing in our customers and their traveler experiences,” said Jeff Robertson, “While this is a big first step, we will continue to explore ways to enhance the customer’s ability to relax, recharge and work in the Delta Sky Clubs.”
During the test phase they offered the following, so will be interesting to see what actually made it:
• More food options, including pancakes and upgraded bagels for breakfast, sandwiches and hot soups mid-day, and hors d’oeuvres, antipasti and dessert choices in the evening.
• Nourishing snack choices, including energy bars, fresh fruit, popcorn, nuts and smoothies.
• Select complimentary services, including shoe shines, manicures and relaxing chair massages — perfect for a busy day of travel.
It doesn’t look like everything that was tested will be added, but let’s hope that most of these will be.
Delta also devalued their SkyClub access rules and increased membership fees, so it’s about time that we see an improvement in the offerings.
