It’s Not Too Late To Get Hyatt Diamond Status Matched

Hyatt announced on Twitter last month that they would be matching anyone to Hyatt Diamond status, however after a few days that shortly changed and Hyatt made it more restrictive that only those who have Starwood Platinum would be matched to Hyatt Diamond.

I wanted to see if this was still the case, so a family member just sent the request in last week, and was finally matched to Hyatt Diamond, so if you have SPG Platinum and are looking to elite status with Hyatt, it’s not too late!

They received the following email of their new perks:

Bottom Line

Now is the time to reach out to Hyatt if you are still thinking about a status match from Starwood Platinum. You’ll also get 4 suite upgrades this year and 4 more for next year.

To go about the match, email goldpassport@hyatt.com with your GP number, current status. Good luck!

  1. Incorrect. It is indeed too late. I am SPG plat 75 n got rejected. Just because your family member submitted last week and got it matched doesn’t mean offer is still alive now. Here’s the message:

Thank you for your email and inquiry into our special, limited time Tier
    Match offer.
We are unable to complete your tier match request at this time, as we
    only accept valid screen shots.
Please let me know if I may be of any other assistance.

  2. If I’m not sure how much I’ll use the status, should I still go for it? Will I be limited from a match in the future?

  3. I have sent in 3 request starting on Nov 25th I am IHG spire elite finally today I got a reply saying they gave me platinum, I have asked why I never got diamond as offered

  4. Applied on Nov 25, got the email saying 14 business days needed. It still haven’t been 14 business days so haven’t pressed it. But I’m Marriott and SPG plat 50, as well as now Hilton Diamond. Hopefully will receive follow up soon.

  5. I was told when I asked that in order for them to match a HIlton Diamond status the request would have had to be emailed by noon on 11/20. Seems like they are making up rules as they go and have a customer relations nightmare on their hands as a result…

  6. @John – I’m a Hilton Diamond (from status match) and they only offered to match me to Hyatt Platinum and they specifically said that they are only matching SPG Platinums to Hyatt Diamond

This was an email I got yesterday

  7. Dan – That proves my point that “they are making up rules as they go”, or they may have “forgotten” to mention that they will match if your sent the email prior to noon on 11/20. I would press them if you did…

  8. Not too late got this today 12/11/15, I am spg plat
