Successful Status Matching in Atlantic City

Despite not having a great stay at the Ocean Resort Atlantic City, our weekend in Atlantic City became quite profitable thanks to all the status match opportunities available. The catch is that you have to do most of these in person at the casinos when you’re down there.

As a World of Hyatt Explorist member, I already have MLife Gold Status through the Hyatt/MGM partnership, meaning I’d be skipping the Borgata as I already hold status in their program.

To get started, I signed up for a Wyndham account and status matched to Wyndham Diamond a few weeks before my trip. Once I held Wyndham Diamond status, everything else fell into place. Next, Wyndham Diamond status matches to Caesars Diamond status, which you can also do online. It did take a week for the status to post, so be sure to do this well in advance of your trip.

Once in Atlantic City, you’ll want to go to Caesars to print our your Caesars Diamond card if you don’t already have one. The rewards center closes at Midnight, however any of the tables, the pit boss can also print out your card for you.

Once you have your Caesars Diamond card, head over to the new Hard Rock Atlantic City hotel. They are currently offering a Tier Match, which means you’ll be matched to Rock Royalty.

Rock Royalty Benefits include:

  • Two complimentary nights, valid any day of the week
  • $100 Bonus Free Play
  • Two complimentary tickets to Howie Mandel’s Comedy Club
  • One-time entry for you and one guest into Fresh Harvest Buffet or Legends Lounge

Yes, you read that correct you’ll receive two complimentary nights to stay at the Hard Rock hotel. Side note, that MLife Gold also matched to Rock Royalty so if you have through the Hyatt/MLife partnership you can also match to this status.

Next up, you’ll want to head to the next casino on the boardwalk which is the Ocean Resort, which has a similar status match offer. I chose not to do this as I’ll be going back to use my two free nights at the Hard Rock and when I’m there next time I’ll do this, as the free nights do have a short expiration period.

If you’re wondering if this works in Vegas, the short answer is no. All these status matches are only good in Atlantic City.
