As a Globalist, I was welcomed upon check-in by a friendly front desk agent, and informed I was upgraded to a Park Junior Suite City View on the 9th floor. Globalists receive a $80 daily breakfast credit in either the hotel restaurant Blue Duck Tavern, or this can be used through in-room dining.

My Park Junior Suite City View was located on the 9th floor and at 544 square feet, it did feel spacious with a separate living area and bedroom, even though there was no separate door between the two rooms. The bathroom featured a walk-in rain shower and deep soaking tub, making it quite a luxurious bathroom.

Most of the hotel collateral had been removed from the room, and QR codes featured the in-room dining and other hotel information. Daily housekeeping service is not offered proactively, however you can still request housekeeping service if you’d like during your stay.

Bottom Line

As a Globalist, I couldn’t have had a better experience at the Park Hyatt Washington D.C. as I was pleased with the suite upgrade and breakfast each morning. I redeemed 20,000 World of Hyatt points per night, but as part of the current offer, I received 25% or 5,000 points back making this a great value considering paid rates are well over $400 a night.

I was very pleased with the breakfast at Blue Duck Tavern and despite going slightly over the $80 allowance, there was no charge on my folio upon check-out.

When it comes to coronavirus precautions, the Park Hyatt Washington D.C. has done a great job with cleanliness and social distance measures. The hotel gym is still open, however it is locked and the front desk will escort you over to the gym as they’re keeping an eye on the number of guests at each time.
