TSA apparently also has a blog. They responded after the viral video surfaced exposing how the TSA nude-o-scope scanners don’t work. A video blogger and Engineer, Jonathan Corbett, showed video claiming he exposed a loophole where items are not picked up on the scanner, with video no less.
In their response they do not discredit his claim, but they do make an attempt to discredit “some guy” who posted a video this morning.
They responded by saying among other things:
It’s one of the best tools available to detect metallic and non-metallic items, such as… you know… things that go BOOM…
However, our nation’s aviation system is much safer now with the deployment of 600 imaging technology units at 140 airports.
Apparently they didn’t see that the metalic object he carried made it all the way through the screening process, on two occasions.
