Apparently Hertz is distributing scratch-off game cards at airport and neighborhood locations around the country when renters return their cars. The cards will be distributed until 5/31/13 or until they run out. The fact that there is no registration required and the prizes are pretty nice caught my attention.

Valid through 5/31/13 (or when suppliers run out).

Scratch-Off Game Card Prizes

The prizes include Delta SkyMiles and Hertz Gold Plus Reward points:

  • Grand Prize (1) 100,000 Delta Miles
  • First Prize (4): 25,000 Delta Miles
  • Second Prize (50): 1,000 Gold Plus Rewards Points
  • Third Prize (25): 5,000 Delta Miles
  • Fourth Prize (100): 500 Gold Plus Rewards Points
  • Fifth Prize (100): 1,000 Delta Miles
  • Sixth Prize (1,000): 500 Delta Miles

Bottom Line

I’m not a buyer of lottery scratch and win, but this is pretty cool. Imagine if you turned in your Hertz rental card and you were unexpectedly handed a game card where you won 100,000 Delta SkyMiles. That would be a pretty nice way to end a long week on the road or just leisure weekend rental.

Have you received a scratch-off game card when you turned in your Hertz car rental?
