No hard side bag for me.
Lifetime Warranty!
Previous very large hard sided case was dented, but this was many moons ago. Am sure that B&R and time have improved the product.
Love the B&R life-time guarantee – it is the best. And, would love to try the 4-wheeled carry-on. It looks great for my travel.
Have never had a hard-sided case.
Think the 4-wheel spinner is a neat concept and think that I would like it.
Wife and I both still have our 70’s Samsonite and Am Tourister H/S, mine is in great shape after nearly a Million Miles.
But they have no wheels, so today’s bag is fabric; wearing out every 400,000 miles.
I like the lockable outside pocket, let’s see if “MAKROLON” can survive the gorillas in the baggage department for my next Million miles.
1. I have not had a hard case carry on. I have had hard case check in bags
2. The feature that I like the most is the outside handles that they have providing more room for even packing and the pocket on the front looks cool as well
Yes, I have the Kirkland signature hard side.
I think the 80/20 separation is great because you always have a side that is packed heavier. Good luck to everyone!
I have never had a hard-sided travel bag. I love the feature of unconditional lifetime warranty. Thanks.
I have one hardside carry on and I love it! Definitely the lockable front side compartment for accessibility
a. no
b. it’s a briggs & riley, nuff said
I don’t have a hardside bag but would love one! I think the lockable front compartment adds a level of convenience for frequent travelers.
– Have you ever had a hard-sided travel bag?
Yes, but my soft-sided bag is my go-to
– What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why?
I want that outer compartment for going through security.
I’ve never had a hardside bag, but would love to try one out. It seems like the 80/20 top lid opening could be the best feature!
Never had a hard sided travel bag. The feature most helpful is the side pocket. All

What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why?
polycarbonate material because its durable and lightweight
I would love to have this bag …
1. Never had a hard sided bag.
2. I really like the zipper-less front side compartment, which would be very useful for when you need to quickly retrieve something – particularly when the bag is still in the overhead bin.
I’ve never had a hard luggage.
I feel the Outsider handle system to be the most useful. Due to the flat packing surface you can fit more inside the luggage.
1. I’ve never had a hard-sided bag.
2. The front compartment on the TORQ bag would be the most helpful to me, especially when going through security.
1. never had a hard sided bag. I was always afraid of it breaking.
2. for me lifetime warranty as a frequent traveler travel bags tend to get damaged often. and being light weight also helps.
I’ve never had a hard sided bag and would like this chance to try it out.
I like the Makrolon material which I assume is lightweight and pops back into shape.
I’ve never had a hard-sided travel bag, although I’ve often wondered if they’re as amazing as everyone says they are! My favorite feature of the TORQ is the exterior compartment, as the lack of one is a huge reason I haven’t purchased a hard-sided bag before. It will definitely be useful when traveling! 🙂
Have never had a hard sided case before but the more I travel and occasionally end up with grease, water, and other unidentified fluids soaking into the exterior of my bag, the more I wonder if a hard sided case may be the right answer.
I definitely think that the exterior compartment is the best feature, allowing quick and easy access to electronics or documents without the need to unzip.
I have never owned a hard-sided piece of luggage, but I’m very intrigued by the front opening feature. To be able to put a tablet or fragile electronics in the front pocket, where it’s accessible, but have it protected by a hard side, is an appealing option.
Never had a hardside bag. And easy access to the front that is protective is a great bonus!
Never had a hard shell bag. I like the front pocket feature–perfect for traveling.
1. Never had a hard shell
2. The front pocket for easy access to my electronic devices is fantastic.
1. Yes
2. I think the exterior compartment is a great feature to provide quick & easy access to my laptop/iPad as well as travel documents without having to unzip the bag
Never had a hard shell bag.
Exterior compartment is really convenient!
Never used a hard-sided bag before.
I think the Makrolon material is a neat feature. The bag’s durability ensures that you’ll have it for a while.
1) Never went with a hard-side bag.
2) More interior packing space in a carry-on.
Yes, I have a Samsonite hardshell and it’s been working well. Looking to get another hardshell.
Feature that appeals to me is their lifetime warranty. That tells me they are confident of their product quality and stand behind it.
1) Yes, but an inferior brand.
2) I like the 80/20 opening.
1) Never
2) Unconditional lifetime warranty
1) Never. 2) The front pocket.
Yes, I always use hard sided case
Cool factor is most important…
I have not ever had a hard sided piece of luggage. My grandmother did however!
I think the lockable hard side front compartment is a big plus as it makes accessing its contents very convenient.
1) No
2) Lockable front hard side compartment for business travel.
I’ve never had a hard-sided bag, but they do look interesting for short trips.
I think the best feature is the lifetime warranty. Can’t beat only buying a bag once.
1. The only hard sided luggage I have is the old samsonite from 1975.
2. I love the Outsider handle giving me an inside flat surface for packing.
I have not owned a hard-sided travel bag. The secret middle layer will be prevent it from cracking, which is the best feature to me.
1. I have not used a hard-side bag but have wanted one. I ordered one from Costco (not a Briggs and Riley) and it was already all scratched up when it arrived so I returned it before trying it.
2. The Briggs and Riley lifetime warranty is the best feature.
I have never owned a hard shelled suitcase, but the 80/20 looks likewhat one would want if one had a hard shell suitcase.
Never had a hard side carryon; Love that I know they will honor the lifetime guarantee.
1) I have never had a hard side bag.
2) I think the control panel is the best feature. It’s secure and allows easy access.
Never had a hardside bag. Best feature is the lifetime guaranty that covers basically all damage that they are well known for honoring.
1.Yes, I have, but it was too large to carry one and the exterior parts ended up breaking faster than they did on a soft bag. Probably because the handlers figured a hard sided bag could be handled rougher.
2. I think the 80/20 opening will be the biggest help. You don’t have to pack both sides to maximize your space.
No. Control Panel as it protects valuables.
No. Makrolon for its resilience.
I’ve never had a hardside and I really love the control panel feature.
1. No,I’ve never had a hardside bag.
2. The 80/20 opening looks like a great feature.
No I haven’t but I’m looking forward to trying a hardside bag.
The life time warranty would be the best feature for me!
