We’ve previously shared our love of Briggs & Riley bags in the past here at Points, Miles & Martinis. Now we are excited to bring you a chance to win a bag from the new Briggs & Riley TORQ™ hard cover collection.
Briggs & Riley announced their latest innovative product in May, Briggs & Riley’s perfected version of the polycarbonate hard-sided bag that is popular with both frequent and non-frequent travelers.
Briggs & Riley TORQ™ Bag Giveaway
We are giving away a bag from the TORQ™ collection to one lucky winner. The winner will be allowed to select one bag from the three sizes (international carry-on, medium and large spinners), TORQ™ is available in Cobalt (blue), Graphite (dark grey), and Ruby (red). The TORQ™ collection features:
- Briggs & Riley Control Panel (patent pending) that locks contents in the main and front compartment for the ultimate protection of valuables
- Backed by the Briggs & Riley unbeatable warranty – TORQ™ is the world’s only hardside collection to be protected by an unconditional lifetime warranty
- Briggs & Riley’s proprietary Outsider® handle system, TORQ™ provides a flat packing surface and greater interior packing capacity
- TORQ™ boasts a unique “secret middle layer” that is flexible and forgiving – preventing it from cracking
- The ergonomic top and side carry handles are soft to the touch and the interior is fully lined with soft high-quality nylon
- TORQ™ cases are made of Makrolon™, a high-performance material that can withstand the roughest handling, and is known for its resilience and pop-back properties
- The carry-on boasts a lockable hardside front compartment which is gusseted and zipperless, sitting flush with the bag when closed
- TORQ™ bags have a unique 80/20 top-lid opening, opening like traditional luggage, rather than the 50/50 clamshell opening and packing limits of other hard sided options on the market
- Briggs & Riley designed TORQ™ with an exceptionally wide, tilt-resistant wheel base and proprietary recessed spinner wheels, providing for smooth and dependable wheel motion and gliding – allowing the bag to be tilted and carried on two wheels, or glided on four

1. I’ve never had a hard-sided bag before.
2. The best feature is the unconditional lifetime warranty.
I have used a hard shell case before, but only with a bag that was checked luggage – not a carry on. I’d really like to win this and thank you for the opportunity. I like the easy access lockable front space.
I haven’t had a hard bag before, but I hate my current soft carry on.
1. Never had a hard-sided bag before
2. Love the 80/20 opening — lets me pack the same way as I pack in soft-sided bags.
I have had a hard sided travel bag but no longer use it. I found it hard to deal with as a carry on since if I ever had to get into it, I had to lay it down and open it up all the way.
The most useful part of the TORQ is the easy access pocket portion. It would make a hard sider bag useful as a carry-on my opinion
I’ve never carried a hard side bag before, but with the 80/20 design, the TORQ bags look like a winner!
I have never owned a hard shell bag before but this one looks really cool and I am dying for an easier way to access my laptop for TSA checks as well as use on the plane.
I have never owned a hard sided bag.
I think the lock would be nice along with the spinner wheels.
I’ve never had a hard side bag, would have always wanted one.
I like the four wheels to easily move around the luggage.
Never had a hardside either, but would love the durability of them.
Have never had a hard side bag.

Have you ever had a hard-sided travel bag?
– Yes
What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why?
– Unlimited lifetime warranty – more trustworthy with this.
I have never had a hard side bag
I have always wanted one because of soft shell bags always get deformed and unusable. The TORQ layers seems to prevent this from happening
I love the side bag. It would be so convenient.
Have you ever had a hard-sided travel bag? No I have not.
What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why? I really think the 80/20 lid opening is a great feature.

I think the best feature is the front panel access.
Never had hard case before.
Love the front panel storage to put a tablet or small laptop.
1 no hard sided bag previously
2 wide base of 4 wheels for stability
Thanks for the drawing
Yes I have a hard sided bag for trips that need more protection. Best feature still has to be the spinner wheels, they make an amazing difference when moving two bags through the airport.
I have no hard sided cases.
I like the lockable front pocket, it offers fast access to contents without any loss in security.
I haven’t had a hard-sided travel bag before. The 80/20 top-lid opening looks like it would be really helpful for packing.
I have never owned a hard case and the lockable front compartment is my favorite feature.
I haven’t had a hardside before.
The hardside front compartment looks cool.
I do have a hard-sided bag that I love, although it’s getting worn out.
I love the 80/20 top-lid idea, it would really help with packing.
I’ve never had a hardside bag. It seems the hardside pocket area would come in very handy. I always end up squeezing my IPAD into my purse to avoid putting it into the mushy outside pocket on my current bag (and thereby taking up valuable space there). Good solution!
I have never had a hard-sided bag before.
I think the lockable front compartment is of the most use, might eliminate the need for a laptop bag.
Never had a hard shell like the front quick access section.
1. I have not had a hard shell case.
2. Their warranty is their best feature. Love companies that stand behind their products.
1. No, never.
2. The lifetime warranty, because a frequent flyer is obviously familiar with how easy bags can get damaged — and this warranty helps to defray the cost of repair.
1. never had one
2. toughness and resilience
I’ve never had one except for my LH first class amenity kit but I don’t think that counts.
The front panel access seems pretty handy.
1. Yes, I’ve had a couple of hard-side suitcases in the past.
2. I like the idea that these TORQ bags have the 80/20 top-lid opening like traditional luggage. One of my complaints with other hard-sided luggage is it requires too-much floor space to access both sides.
I’ve never had a hard-sided travel bag. I think the best feature is the durable material (Makrolon); we all know how rough baggage handlers are.
I personally don’t have one, but I’ve been looking at them recently. My wife has hard side luggage and really likes it.
The best part about this bag, in my opinion, is the front pocket which is unusual in hard side luggage.
1. No
2. Briggs & Riley warranty
I do own a hardside bag, but the foldout feature on the Briggs & Riley looks more functional. I think the lifetime warranty would be the best feature since you would not have to worry about a fix or replacement bag.
