- TORQ™ cases are made of Makrolon™, a high-performance material that can withstand the roughest handling, and is known for its resilience and pop-back properties
- The carry-on boasts a lockable hardside front compartment which is gusseted and zipperless, sitting flush with the bag when closed
- TORQ™ bags have a unique 80/20 top-lid opening, opening like traditional luggage, rather than the 50/50 clamshell opening and packing limits of other hard sided options on the market

Never had a hard-sided bag.
The new material seems to be a winner, let alone the unconditional warranty!
Yes, I have had hard sided luggage in the past. I had Samsonite (without wheels) in the early 80’s.
I think the best feature of the TORQ luggage is the wide wheelbase to prevent tipping. Depending on how I pack my current luggage, it will tend to tip over when packed unevenly.
Yes, I have had a hard-sided case before, a Samsonite that got bent up pretty bad.
Am anxious to try to the 4 wheel configuration and I LOVE my current B&R bags.
No, but the design looks super sleek. Would love to have one!
I had a hard-sided Samsonite years ago. This one looks much nicer and I really like the 80/20 opening.
Yes, I had hard sided bags before bags with wheels were popular. A long time ago! I think the best feature would be the locking capacity. Thanks, Gail
I’ve never had a hard shell suitcase before as I always thought the lack of flexibility would not allow me to pack as much. However, the design of this TORQ, with the outside pocket, looks as if it would hold all I need.
1. No, I never owned a hard-cased suitcase before. I have always been skeptical about its durability and flexibility, especially when packing your bag to the brim and checking it in to the airline (have you seen how ‘gentle’ these baggage handlers are?!)
2. I’m curious as to how the secret middle layer adds to the durability of the bag!
I never had a hard shell before.
The weight advantage to my Costco carry on.
I have never had a hard sided luggage but would be willing to give it a try because its Briggs and Riley. We have 3 of their luggage at home and one of the main draws, which the TORQ also has, is the outsider handle. I like the new lock feature that the TORQ offers.
I have never had a hard bag before. I would love to make use of the lockable front compartment!
Haven’t used a hard-side bag for 30 years but did have one waaaay back. I think I really like that lockable front compartment.
I buy cheeses that always get squashed – a hard sided bag will kepp them in shape!
I have never had a hard sided bag but I think it’s time to make the switch! I really love the front access on these bags, a very convenient feature.
I never had a hardside bag. I like the Control Panel feature.
I’ve never owned a hard-side bag, but interested to try it! I hear they are extremely light, and the 4 wheel design will let me wheel it down the aisle, instead of awkwardly carrying a bag that hits my leg with every step.
1. I have never owned a hard sided bag, but my good friend just got a set last Spring.
2. I like the lockable side compartment on the exterior of the carry-on. I’m wondering if my laptop would fit in it.
Owned a hard-sided a very long time ago, a check in bag. The case itself was too heavy for current weight requirements, in other words – there was not enough left for the contents. I would want the carry-on TORQ to carry camera gear and the spinner looks easy to travel with. Hope I win and hope I’m right.
1. Have never owned a hard-sided case.
2. Think I would enjoy the ease of a spinner and it is larger than my 2-wheel computer bag (but not as large as some carry ons) 🙂
I have never had a hard side bag. I love the warranty
I’ve never had a hard sided bag. Best feature, 80/20 top-lid.
1. I have never had a hard sided bag
2. I would have to say the most handy thing is the 4 wheel configuration. It allows for turning sideways and rolling in tighter spaces where you may have to pick up and carry a traditional 2 wheeled carry on (I’m thinking specifically down the airport aisle)
I had a large Samsonite hard-sided bag long time ago. Never had a hard-sided carry-on bag. I like the front compartment feature.
Never had a hard sided bag.
Love the front pocket on this hard sided bag.
1. I own one, and use it most often.
2. I like the exterior handle to maximize inside space.
Yes, I do have 1.
Love the unlimited warranty – makes it more trustworty.
Like the top lid opening idea. Never had a hard side case before but if it holds up better than what I have now I’m all for it!
Never had a hard sided bag
Definitely the warranty!
1. Yes
2. Front pocket
Would love to have one of this.
Have you ever had a hard-sided travel bag?
No because I like to have quick access pockets that they usually don’t have.
What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why?
The fact that there is a quick access pocket!
Never. I’d say the Makrolon material might be very useful for extending the lifetime of the suitcase.
Weekly traveler, been thinking about the hardsided but haven’t made the change over yet.
The warranty and the protection for my gear sounds great!
beautiful..I need only badly on a international flight!
1. Yes, I own a Rimowa Salsa Deluxe.
2. I believe the lockable front compartment (which is unique among hardsided bags) is the most helpful to frequent travelers who need access to items in the airport (e.g., toiletries bag, laptop) and on the plane (iPad, charge cable, paperwork).
No, always thought hardsided meant heavy. I like the front compartment for easy access without having to open the entire case.
1. Yes, a Tumi Vapor domestic.
2. Really like the front pocket so don’t have to open and dig in bag when dealing with security. Plus Briggs & Riley’s warranty is second to none.
I’ve never had a hard-sided bag.
The lifelong-warranty seems amazing!
1) No.
2) More interior packing space

I have never had one.
What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why?

I’ve never had a hard sided suitcase before this looks cool! I think the spinner wheels look like an Incredible feature that would make getting it around a whole lot easier on my arms!
1. No
2. Greater interior packing capacity (Proprietary Outsider handle system)
1. NO
2. The best feature is the lockable access pocket.
1. No, I have not owned one of these bags.
2. I am a big fan of the greater packing capacity of these bags since I always feel like my current bag should hold more than it does (based on the perceived size looking at the outside of the bag).
1. Have not.
2. Durability
I can’t remember if I’ve ever used a hard-sided travel bag, if I have it was too many years ago to remember. I think the way the wheels work would be the best feature for my traveling needs.
1. I have never owned a hard-sided bag
2. I think just the material would be useful for people who travel a lot!
Have never tried hard-sided luggage.
The recessed wheels system is one of many good features.
1. I have never owned one.
2. I love the four-wheel configuration and the 80/20 top lid opening. Unconditional lifetime warranty is nice too.
1. Never owned a hard-sided bag.
2. Love the front compartment for my electronics.
