What kind of work bag do you travel with (backpack, briefcase, wheeling briefcase, other) and why?
Backpack, lots of pockets for various stuff, holds more than a normal laptop bag, easily fits under the seat in Y if I have my carry-on with me.
What feature do you look for in a business bag?
Pockets, lots of them!!
I use a briefcase, and I’m looking for something that is built to last – not cheap and ready to break!
I currently carry a backpack and it works pretty well, but I could use something stronger.
When I’m flying I take a backpack. I can fit more in it than a briefcase and all of my various padfolios fit inside.
The main feature I look for is capacity.
In the past I have always carried my backpack, but now that I have graduated I am looking to upgrade to something a bit nicer. Organization is key for me, so I want something that has more of an internal organizational structure next time around.
Wheelie bag and I value durability.
I always carry a poorly organized backpack as my carry on. I need something that can keep me a little more organized and keep my “stuff” from shifting around freely inside.
My carry on is a small roller bag, but I would like options and that looks a little more stylish, like the bags pictured!
Wheeling briefcase.
Durability.
wheeling briefcase.
Space.
I travel with a wheeling briefcase, because it’s better for my back. I look for an ergonomic design in a bag.
A briefcase because it looks professional. I look for a bag that looks professional and NOT casual.
I travel with a backpack because it’s easier than other types of bags to pass through a crowd of people. I look for the ability to hold my iPad or laptop.
I got with a briefcase because it’s easy to access documents. I look for a lightweight bag :).
Briefcase bags are ok if it has shoulder strap.
Main functionality that would be great is if it was water resistant
I travel with a backpack to keep my hands free. I look for a bag with good protection for my computer.
I usually use a backpack because it is lightweight and easy to transport- which are the features I look for.
A Timbuk2 messenger bag. Generally, I prefer a backpack, but I love the Timbuk2’s sturdiness.
Fossil Leather Messenger Bag. I looked for lots of pockets and dividers to keep everything in the right spot!
Appearance and storage flexibility are key!
Depends on the assignment/trip, but my go to is a wheelie briefcase. Ample room for stuff yet compact and maneuverable.
What I look for in a bag? Pockets, pockets, pockets. Well thought out and engineered pockets that snugly fit laptop, tablet, pens, and the like. Room for snacks, too.
I use a messenger bag – and like tons of pockets.
With a messenger bag. Has to have an easily accessible outside pocket
I always travel with a wheeling briefcase for both ease of use and speedy traveling in the airport and outside of it.
The feature I most look for in a business bag is… durability!
I carry an attaché case, because it holds my laptop without making it obvious. I look for light weight and convenience features (shoulder strap, access) in a business bag.
Backpack. I look for lots of compartments.
Messenger bag. Need the flexibility for multi-functions.
Briefcase. Laptop compartment.
I travel with wheeling briefcase because (1) it’s easer to pull it rather than carrying it on my shoulder (2) provide better protection than a regular soft bag.
I want a more spacious outer pocket that can hold my iPad or magazine. The wheels have to be sturdy. And roomy interior.
1. Backpack
2. Multiple storage compartments
I like the back pack for versatility.
Backpack: It’s easy to carry. I look for User-friendly design in a bag.
I carry a backpack and must fit my laptop and have comfortable straps
I like a briefcase and it must look professional
I currently travel with a soft briefcase, but I’d much rather have a wheeled briefcase. Hopefully I can win one!
What I look for most in a bag is quality construction, and a lifetime warranty. You want to be able to feel the quality every time you touch the bag. Briggs & Riley has those things.
briefcase. Size.
wheeling briefcase. Number of compartments.
Current bag: a very old Travel Pro Walkabout 2 that I love. Wish Travel Pro still made quality bags like this.
Important: a small enough size to fit in the overhead of an RJ. There are just so many RJ’s these days – I hate waiting in the rain on the apron for my carry-on.
Backpack is my style; warranty is the key to B&R!
I carry on a backpack which allows my things to shift around and settle on the bottom. I would like to find a bag that does a better job of organizing and holding things in place.
My carryon is a small roller bag; about a third the size of a full carry on. It easily fits in the smaller overhead bins, but is still a bit cumbersome for the small size that it is.
I would like a bag that still rolls, and still fits in the smaller overheads, but perhaps is a bit more stylish and easy to handle.
I usually purchase regular soft briefcase style bags, but now am trying out a backpack given to me by the company I work for.
I look for well-made bags at a reasonable price that are black or other onubtrusive color. It has to be able to close completely for security purposes and also protect the laptop provided by the company.
Thank you for the chance!
A briefcase because it’s more professional. I look for a bag that looks ‘professional’ and NOT casual.
