For a limited time this summer, the W New York is offering a special package where guests can receive an upgrade and two complimentary cocktails. The key is to know whether or not the rate is higher than the lowest standard rate or one that you could find elsewhere.

Complimentary Upgrade And Two Complimentary Cocktails

Book your W Hotels New York Stay with rate code LUPKG. Guests will receive a complimentary room upgrade and two cocktails in the Living Room.

Example Of Rate Difference

Let’s look at a sample booking to see what the rate difference will be using the promotion package. Assume a 1 night booking at the W New York for September 6 through September 7, 2013.

Using the promotional package, the lowest rate was $409.

Looking at the same dates the lowest standard rate is showing $389.

Terms And Conditions

Alcoholic beverages will only be served to guests 21 years of age or older. Rates are per room, per night, based on single/double occupancy and availability and do not include additional per room per night charges that may be imposed or state/local taxes. A limited number of rooms may be available at these rates and additional restrictions and blackout dates may apply. Advance reservations required. Rate plan must be given when making reservations by phone. Offer not applicable to groups. Not to be combined with other offers or promotions. Not responsible for typographical errors. Void where prohibited by law.

Bottom Line

Booking a W New York hotel stay with rate code LUPKG can give you an upgrade and two complimentary drinks. With a sample booking I was able to find the rate difference of only $20 over the lowest available rate. So for an extra $20 you’ll get two drinks and an upgrade. Not bad for a $20 trick if you were going to have a paid stay at the hotel anyway.
