World of Hyatt has announced their latest promotion which will span most of the summer. World of Hyatt members can earn triple points on eligible spend starting with their second qualifying stay from June 15 through September 15, 2020. Additionally, World of Hyatt elite members will earn 2,500 Bonus Points on their first stay.

For context, World of Hyatt’s earlier promotion this year was also called Bonus Journeys, however only offered double points, so in a way it’s a return of their previous offer, only slightly enhanced rather than a new promotion completely.

Promotion Details

Beginning today, World of Hyatt members can register to earn thousands of Bonus Points from June 15 through September 15, 2020, across all Hyatt locations worldwide:

• All members can earn Triple Points on eligible spend starting with their second qualifying stay during the offer period. This includes:
  • Participating Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide across 17 brands such as Thompson Hotels, Hyatt Regency, Andaz, Hyatt Place and Hyatt House.
  • Participating MGM Resorts destinations Small Luxury Hotels of the World hotels and Lindblad Expedition experiences.
• Plus, elite World of Hyatt members (Discoverist, Explorist, Globalist) can earn 2,500 Bonus Points on their first qualifying stay from June 15 through September 15, 2020.

Here’s How To Enroll:

• Be a World of Hyatt member and first register for Bonus Journeys by August 31, 2020 (membership is complimentary).
• Non-elite members can register by visiting hyatt.com/bonusjourneys and elite members can register by visiting here.
• Make an eligible reservation and include their World of Hyatt membership number with their reservation.
• Stay at participating locations with a checkout date between June 15 and September 15, 2020

Bottom Line

Given the fact that Hyatt has offered a World of Hyatt 2020 Status Extension for All Members as well as added the ability to  Earn World of Hyatt Bonus Elite Qualifying Night Credits through its credit cards, I’m surprised we didn’t see World of Hyatt offer a more generous promotion this summer.

Hyatt could of taken the lead and offered an extremely lucrative promotion for the summer as travel starts to ramp back up, however they chose to only slightly increase their prior promotion this year from double to triple points.

I know many were hoping to see the return on a variation on Hyatt’s “Faster Free Nights” promotion where you’d earn free nights after every two stays. I would of personally loved to see this return even increasing the free night earned to after three/four stays and limit the free nights to Category 1-5 properties.

In a normal year this would have been a fine promotion, but quite frankly given the times I feel Hyatt’s Bonus Journeys missed the mark. I would of expected this offer from Hilton or Marriott, but not World of Hyatt.
