American Express reopened their Centurion Lounges last September after closing them all for 6+ months in the start of the pandemic. However, with the lounges reopening, came reduced hours and most of these hours haven’t been extended since.
A few days ago we asked When Will Centurion Lounges Extend Hours? American Express never responded to our comment but it appears that both the Charlotte Centurion Lounge and the New York (JFK) Centurion Lounge are both open now till 10pm.
There’s still many more Centurion Lounges that close extremely early (7pm or earlier), and hopefully with these 2 lounges closing now at 10pm, others will follow.
Especially when we look at major hub airports such as Dallas and Denver, it’s crazy how early these lounges are closing, with most passengers who have evening flights/connections not able to access the lounges.
Additionally another issue I have with many of the Centurion lounge is that food service ends a full hour before the lounge closes. An example of this is the Centurion Lounge Denver which already closes early at 8pm. However, their food is removed from the lounge at 7pm. Not sure why food is taken away a full hour before the lounge closes.
What are your thoughts on the reduced hours of the American Express Centurion Lounges? When will Amex start extending the hours of these lounges for more of the lounges? Feel free to share your comments below.Â
Be that as it may, the world is slowly returning to life after the pandemic. The opening of airport lounges is a good sign.

Denver lounge is now closed on Tuesdays apparently, much to the dismay of the long line of patrons standing outside this morning.
