We’ve previously shared our love of Briggs & Riley bags in the past here at Points, Miles & Martinis. Now we are excited to bring you a chance to win a bag from the new Briggs & Riley TORQ™ hard cover collection.
Briggs & Riley announced their latest innovative product in May, Briggs & Riley’s perfected version of the polycarbonate hard-sided bag that is popular with both frequent and non-frequent travelers.

- TORQ™ cases are made of Makrolon™, a high-performance material that can withstand the roughest handling, and is known for its resilience and pop-back properties
- The carry-on boasts a lockable hardside front compartment which is gusseted and zipperless, sitting flush with the bag when closed
- TORQ™ bags have a unique 80/20 top-lid opening, opening like traditional luggage, rather than the 50/50 clamshell opening and packing limits of other hard sided options on the market

Haven’t ever had a hardside bag.
Love the front opening feature.
I’ve never had a hard side bag of any kind, but have been considering them. Had some items crushed and a laptop damaged by over zealous passengers attempting to stuff their bag on top of mine in an already full overhead compartment.
I have never owned a hard side bag but I I would love to give this a try as I kind of like the real lifetime warranty they offer.
I have never had a hard side bag and I just checked the prices on these, so I doubt that I will ever get one!!
Would love to see my luggage tags on one though. I especially like that front pocket for my ipad.
I have a Rimowa and love its maneuverability. However I’d love more interior packing space.
The most useful new feature is the pocket on the exterior. Very handy.
1. No.
2. I like the lockable compartment.
I have never owned a hardside bag~dreaming of owning one!
Have a lifetime warranty which is great!
I am a meeting planner and travel with lots of files and WOOULD love to have a hard covered case. I have not ever had a hard cover case. I love the fact that there is no stiching to come apart.
1) never
2) 80/20 feature
I used to own a hard sided bag for my scuba gear. Unfortunately it was beaten up badly on an island. I should have picked a better manufacturer.
I think the best feature is the front pocket. For those 1-2 day client trips its a convenient way to avoid carrying a briefcase too.
I do have a hard side bag.
The tilt resistane wheels are the best feature
I don’t have a hard sided bag.
I think the best feature will be the front pocket on the carry on size.
Yes I have, but not one with a lifetime warranty !!!
easy to use handles will be helpful. no hard-sided bag to date.
I have not had a hard-sided bag. I like the control panel to lock the smaller compartment.
I have never owned a hard sided bag. I’m interested in seeing the secret middle compartment – that seems like a neat feature I’d like.
No – never had a bag like this. The most useful feature to me is the lifetime warranty.
Never owned a hard-side luggage before. The wide spinner wheels are my favorite feature as I tend to pack my luggage tight & have prior experience with broken wheels.
1. Never had a hard side bag
2. Like the front pocket for quick access.
I’ve never owned a hard case suitcase. The best feature is the lifetime warranty.
I have a large hard sided case for long travel, and love it. The laptop/tablet access pocket is genius!
I have had a hard shell before but it was from Brookstone, and after a few trips, my wheel got ground down from getting stuck in the wrong position and having a heavy load in the suitcase – definitely a disappointment. I think the front access pocket for a laptop or tablet is great! This is a highly accessed item and being able to have it with the suitcase instead of buried away in your personal item is a great feature!
I have never had a hard side bag but I do love the laptop/tablet pocket!
It’s been years since I’ve owned a hardside bag, but there’s it’s mainly due to the past technology.
Best feature – the warrenty!
Have you ever had a hard-sided travel bag? Yes.
What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why? The control panel for quick access and ability to lock.
I’ve never owned a hard case suitcase. The best feature is the lifetime warranty.
Used to have a Samsonite hard case spinner, that died after an Emirates flight so now I’m using a Delsey hard case spinner.
The unconditional warranty is the most helpful in my opinion, I don’t have to think about my Briggs & Riley bag anywhere I go although the lockable front compartment on the TORQ looks like a winner too.
Nope…the wheels could be nice
Never had one.
Looking forward for having a decent warranty!
1. Yet to own one.
2. Being hard and functional – big change for me
1 Just brought a TUMI vapor as mother’s day gift for mom, but yet to own one for myself.
2. The life time warranty is a treat!
4th entry!: ‘No’ to the first question. For the second question, the most helpful feature is the durable material (Makrolon); we all know how rough baggage handlers are.
I have never had a hard-sided bag, but they do look interesting for traveling.
I think the best feature is the lifetime warranty. If I run into a problem way down the road I hope that I can remember the warranty.
I haven’t had a hard side bag before.
I like the 80/20 front lid.
1: Hard but light sides is the way to go
2: There are many best features – warranty, weight and design are all winners for me.
Have you ever had a hard-sided travel bag? Nope!
What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why? The design (exceptionally wide, tilt-resistant wheel base and proprietary recessed spinner wheels), because nothing is more important to a frequent traveler than gliding through airports during tight connections and saving precious time.
1. Never owned one.
2. The lifetime warranty, because a frequent flyer is obviously familiar with how easy bags can get damaged — and this warranty helps to defray the cost of repair.
Have you ever had a hard-sided travel bag?
Yes, but much smaller than these.
What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why?
Definately the warranty!
Thanks!
I have never had a hard-sided bag but I would like to try one. The best feature for me would be the durability of the Makrolon material since I’m constantly traveling internationally and always checking a bag.
I’ve never owned a hard-sided bag.
I like the lifetime warranty.
I don’t have a hard side bag
Nothing beats the Brigs warranty.
Never had a hard-sided bag. The warranty is what does it for me.
No, I have never owned a bag like this (with hard sides)
I still like the locking compartments as a feature.
I like the warranty. Love hard suitcases.
I’ve never had a hard-shell travel bag.
I like the recessed spinner wheels.
Never; & I think the Control Panel is most helpful because it safeguards souvenirs and other valuables against theft: especially important for certain airports/countries.
Never owned one, but I find the ergonomic design to be helpful for frequent travelers since it makes it less easy to get hurt.
– Have you ever had a hard-sided travel bag?
Yes, but I prefer my soft-sided bag which is a B&R!
– What TORQ™ feature do you think is most helpful to the frequent traveler and why?
Have I mentioned I love that outer compartment which will make security very pleasant?
I had a hard side checked bag that was destroyed. I like the front pocket.
I’ve never owned hard-sided luggage. So the best feature about the TORQ bags is the unconditional lifetime warranty!
