So its refreshing when an airline or hotel program gives some of their best members the chance to recognize good service. 1. +1.

When I worked for Starwood at the front desk a repeat guest gave me a Platinum certificate and I got 500 SPG points.

Definitely feels good to know a guest actually appreciates you, since so many other guests are just awful. And they don’t have that many certificates to begin with.

  2. I gave one to a front desk employee at LHR. The guy took it from me, looked at it, rolled his eyes and grunted “thanks.” I figured they must be worthless and have never given one since.
