Update: this amenity has been around for a while I just didn’t come across it in center city hotels I’ve stayed at the last few times at a Hilton.
New Hilton Elite Member Amenity
It seems Hilton has already rolled out a new Elite amenity under the covers without me knowing about it. I just noticed this new amenity on a recent stay. I can’t believe I didn’t notice it before, but I’m glad it is there.
If looking for Hilton points, consider the Hilton Honors American Express Card.
The new amenity (to me) is that Diamond members receive special elite member parking near the front of participating hotels. I noticed this as a recent Hampton Inn hotel. They had 6 spots near the front reserved especially for Diamond members.
Bottom Line
Hilton Diamond members can park in designated parking spaces near the front of the hotel. This is a welcome addition to the elite member amenities.
But a couple of questions come to mind. How does this get enforced, do they give a Diamond ticket to hand from your rear view mirror? If not, the first come first serve approach seems like it doesn’t make as much sense given that if you arrive late to the hotel most of the parking spaces are already taken and there is a liklihood that other Diamond members have already checked in. Still, if you arrive late to the hotel and find one of these spots open, it is a nice surprise.

Not new.
New to me.
Its been around for years
New or not when I’ve had it at the few hotels I’ve seen it at. They don’t give you anything. So I imagine when parking is tight anyone uses them.
I’m sure this is enforced as effectively as the HGI that had a priority spot for “Low emitting, high efficiency” cars… During a 4 day stay, a Corvette or other muscle car (e.g. Charger, Mustang, etc.) was in the spot the entire time. I’ve seen similar things happen with reserved spots for EVs, which has got to really annoy EV owners because those spots often have at least a 110V receptacle for charging.
New to me. I greatly appreciated the preferred parking when I arrived after 10pm to a Hampton in Indiana a couple of weeks ago. Nice feature, though I’d rather have Double Dip with fixed airline miles back….
