Delta First Class Breakfast Quiche

Eating a plane isn’t always idea. Menu choices are sparse and you generally only have one or maybe two options. This Delta First Class Breakfast menu was new and sounded good, so I had to try it .

On this flight from the New York Area an old Boeing 717-200 plane, Delta served two options, and my selection good.

Delta First Class Breakfast Quiche

After boarding, drink orders were taken. Of course I went with the new Starbucks quality coffee option that started back in February.

After we got up in the air, those tray table placemats were handed out. I always find that in the window seat, reaching out to help the flight attendant deliver the placemat is received with a smile. After all, it is courteous to your seat mate as well who won’t have to have their space disturbed as much.

I started with a diet coke for the main course which was a choice of either spinach breakfast quiche or salmon lox with fruit.

I went with the spinach breakfast quiche and ended up trying the salmon lox on a later flight. I’ll compare the two in the separate post, but for now, here’s a few comments on the breakfast quiche.

This Delta First Class breakfast option comes complete with 3 dishes. A fresh bowl of fruit, a cinnamon roll and a spinach quiche.

The spinach quiche was warm, lightly toasted, and came with a side of chopped tomatoes and onions. I spread the tomatoes over the quiche but after one bite thought the quiche was better without the tomatoes.

The sides were delicious. The fruit cup had really fresh and juicy fruit including oranges, blueberries, strawberries and mellon. It was garnished with a mint leave to top it off.

The cinnamon roll was good but didn’t have enough icing. I also think the cream cheese off to the side might have been meant for the salmon dish as it just didn’t go together. But the cinnamon roll was a good addition.

Bottom Line

The Delta First Class Breakfast Quiche is a great option for breakfast. I would definitely select it again on my next Delta flight.
